Introduction

At The Fraternitas Lodge No. 6046, we place friendship at the centre of everything we do.

We are a welcoming Masonic Lodge meeting in Rainham, bringing together men from across Medway and Kent.

Established in 1945, The Fraternitas Lodge has a proud history within the Province of East Kent, built on strong foundations of commitment, charity and tradition. Having celebrated our 75-year milestone in 2020, we continue to thrive today as a modern, friendly Lodge that remains true to the core values of Freemasonry, Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service.

We meet at the Howard Memorial Hall in Wigmore, Rainham, and are proud to be part of the local community.

While our history is important to us, our focus is firmly on the present, creating a welcoming environment where new members can feel comfortable, get involved, and build lasting friendships.

Whether you are simply curious about Freemasonry or actively considering joining, you are very welcome to find out more.

Curious? You’re very welcome to simply get in touch and find out more.

Why consider Joining The Fraternitas Lodge?

The Fraternitas Lodge is known for its friendly atmosphere and strong sense of community.

Our Charitable Works

From its earliest days, Freemasonry has helped orphans, the sick, the aged, and a wide range of other deserving causes. This work continues today, with our members freely giving their time and expertise to help raise money for charities at local, national and international levels. Thanks to this effort, we’re one of the largest charitable givers in the country – in 2024/25 we donated over £27 million to good causes.

Our Lodge has supported many local charities, recently this support has included donations to Step and Learn, The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, Cancer Research UK, The British Heart Foundation, The Kenward Trust, Local Gillingham Sea Scouts and The Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons Charity

In a wider setting the Province of East Kent, are particularly lucky to have many members who are dedicated to supporting our charitable activities – from helping feed the homeless to organising summer barbeques and quiz nights, there’s always plenty happening.

Our Values

What Our MEMBERS SAY

“Joining Fraternitas Lodge has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.”

I originally joined out of curiosity, wanting to understand more about Freemasonry and meet new people. What I found was a welcoming group of men who genuinely support one another and value friendship. The Lodge has given me opportunities to contribute to charity, learn new things, and enjoy great company. It truly feels like being part of something meaningful.

“The sense of friendship in Fraternitas is what makes it special.”

From my first visit I was made to feel welcome, and that feeling has never changed. There is a strong sense of camaraderie within the Lodge, and everyone looks out for each other. We take pride in our traditions, but we also enjoy the social side of Masonry and the friendships it brings. It’s a place where lasting friendships are formed.

“Fraternitas Lodge is a place where you feel valued and included.”

Being part of the Lodge has allowed me to meet people from many different backgrounds who share common values. The atmosphere is friendly, respectful, and supportive, which makes every meeting something to look forward to. I particularly enjoy the balance between our Masonic work and the time we spend together socially. It’s a brotherhood in the truest sense of the word.
