Our Charitable Works
From its earliest days, Freemasonry has helped orphans, the sick, the aged, and a wide range of other deserving causes. This work continues today, with our members freely giving their time and expertise to help raise money for charities at local, national and international levels. Thanks to this effort, we’re one of the largest charitable givers in the country – in 2018 we donated over £48 million to good causes.
Our Lodge has supported many local charities, recently this support has included donations to Step and Learn, The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, Cancer Research UK, The British Heart Foundation, The Kenward Trust, Local Gillingham Sea Scouts and The Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons Charity
In a wider setting the Province of East Kent, are particularly lucky to have many members who are dedicated to supporting our charitable activities – from helping feed the homeless to organising summer barbeques and quiz nights, there’s always plenty happening.

Our Values
Rather than working on buildings like the masons of old, today’s Freemasons focus on building themselves as people of integrity, and membership provides the structure to help achieve that goal.
One of the oldest social organisations in the world, Freemasonry is not defined by an ideology. It is open to people from all religions and political persuasions and provides the common foundation for friendships between members, many of which will last for life.
With a membership of more than 150,000 people drawn from communities across the UK, Freemasonry brings people together irrespective of their race, religion or any other perceived differences that can divide us as a society.
Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.
Upcoming Events
Another Curry Night at Spice Fusion on Friday 27th March 2026 – An Evening of Friendship and Togetherness
One of the great strengths of our Lodge is the sense of friendship that extends well beyond the Lodge room. Recently, a group of Brethren, friends, and family gathered at Spice Fusion for what proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable Curry Night.
The evening was a fantastic success, with excellent food, great company, and plenty of laughter. It was one of those occasions that perfectly captures the social side of Lodge life, where friendships are strengthened, new connections are made, and everyone leaves already looking forward to the next get-together.
The meal was superb, the atmosphere warm and relaxed, and the conversation flowed just as easily as the refreshments. It was wonderful to see Brethren, partners, and friends all enjoying the evening together.
In fact, the night was such a success, and the meal so good, that we’ve decided to do it all again.
We are pleased to confirm that our next Curry Night at Spice Fusion will take place on Friday 27 March, and we would be delighted to see as many of you there as possible.
These informal social evenings are open to Brethren, friends, and family, and they provide a perfect opportunity to enjoy good food, great company, and the kind of fellowship that makes our Lodge so special.
We look forward to another fantastic evening together.
