Fraternitas Lodge White Table Evening – Saturday 13th December

Saturday’s White Table, hosted by Fraternitas Lodge, was a thoroughly enjoyable and festive occasion, with well over 60 guests dining, making it one of the best-attended events of the year. The atmosphere throughout the evening was warm, convivial and very much in keeping with the spirit of the season.

A particular highlight of the evening was the musical contribution, with WBro Barry Battersby ably acting as Choir Master, supported by WBro Peter Lacey on the organ. Their efforts enabled all present to join in singing a selection of Christmas carols, which truly brought the room together and made the evening a festive occasion to remember.

During the course of the evening, the fantastic work of Club AUsome was highlighted, and it was proposed that the proceeds of the Christmas card collection be donated to the charity. In addition, it was suggested that the raffle proceeds should also be included. This proposal received unanimous support from those present, reflecting the generosity and shared commitment of the members and guests of Fraternitas Lodge.

The generosity continued at the Festive Board. A bottle of malt whisky kindly donated by Ann Mutter inspired an additional whisky raffle, with two bottles offered at £5 per ticket. The idea was enthusiastically supported and added to the success of the evening.

The final totals were an excellent reflection of the goodwill in the room:

  • £190 from the Christmas card collection

  • £320 from the main raffle

  • £130 from the whisky raffle

This resulted in an outstanding £640 raised for Club AUsome, a result that was warmly applauded by all in attendance.

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported the evening. It was a wonderful example of friendship, generosity and service in action, and a credit to Fraternitas Lodge as we approach the festive season.
